G. This word, semblance, reminds me of the book "The Scarlet Letter." In this book everyone strives to be the same showing no different emotion. Everyone wants to be a puritan and not do anything wrong. They have this goal to be all similar. That is what this word can mean also.

H. "The nearer people approach old age the closer they return to a semblance of childhood, until the time comes for them to depart this life, again like children, neither tired of living nor aware of death."
-Desiderius Erasmus

Erasmus described the way the elderly become more and more similar to children in that they lose their independence and mental faculties. He claimed that by the time most people died of old age they were as unaware of life or death as newborn children, supposedly because of advanced senility. He used semblance to describe the way they're like children, but still adults. They have the qualities of children, but not the physical form.
